Hospital is proud to introduce Maralyn Cooper LMSW, our new
Social Worker, to the community. Maralyn will be
working part-time in the nursing, home health/hospice, and
skilled swing bed departments. She comes to us from
Stockton. She has two children: Amanda 25 and Douglas 22.
They both live in Lawrence, her son is a student at KU and
her daughter is a CNA. She has been a social worker for 33
years.
About Social
Services: Social Services was created to allow social
workers to work as patient advocates. Also it is to
help families and patients to deal with illness, coping with
issues of not being able to return to their prior level of
independence, to help patients and families be aware of
community resources, and to assist them with accessing them.
She can also provide counseling to patients and families
facing end of life issues in the home health/hospice
department.
